Nimble Niche

The Nimble Assistant is a creative at heart learning through the eyes of entrepreneurs.  Four years as a virtual assistant has given her a different perspective on business from her 8 year corporate experience.  New challenges are welcomed and her supportive nature resonates with which ever task she is presented with.  If you need an extra brain, arm or sometimes leg she’s there.  She assists, that’s what she does.

So how did all this nimbleness come about?  Three years ago once my second child had reached a year old, I brought pen to paper and started the list.  On one side I listed what I could do; the next column was for current resources and the third one was for the criteria of my life as it existed.

I knew I had a full time administrative  job in the agricultural chemical industry before my first maternity leave and figured those guys could probably use a hand only now it would need to be in a very different way.  I certainly wasn’t prepared to jump back in with the level of commitment and interaction I previously had;  life had definitely changed since then. I recognized my humanity despite my new “mom” powers.  Approaching a couple of local reps, I immediately gained some work.   I also knew at this time I didn’t want to be “some lady who did some typing” because I knew I had much more to offer.  I’ve always had the entrepreneurial bug and knew I could manage my responsibilities. Networking set my heart on fire since I was probably so starved from being at home with two (then) babies.  I quickly grew comfortable and relationships created referrals.  People started talking about The Nimble Assistant.

So what do I love to do?  I love to network and interact with people.   I’m good at welcoming people; putting them at ease and warming them up.  I love the use of words and the implications of marketing. I absolutely love learning about people and their behaviors; social media is flooding my brain with this kind of information.    When I can’t be making new friends I support existing ones. Some people need transcription, others need data entry.  Some want proposal writing others looking for some creative ideas; those are my favorite.  Ideas are my play.

I assist; it’s what I do!
